“mention that again and you’re fired” - Bruce

Color me completely unsurprised that Bruce had an ant farm in his formative years. His “this is my city and everyone in it depends on me” issues started early. HE FAILED GOTHANT CITY. NEVER AGAIN, ALFRED. NEVER AGAIN.
Moving on, we have the baseball movie about manpain and triumph, where Robert Redford’s character has a bat named Wonderboy. He plays for the New York Knights, and finding that his old flame had been hiding a son that he’d fathered years ago is a plot point. Tomasi, I just want to hug you, okay?
Also, can I say how much I love the fact that Bruce Wayne crying about manly men saving babies is canon? Charles Bronson’s character dies while protecting these three little boys that he’d befriended. I can’t help but think that if this crying instance had happened in Bruce’s adulthood, it’s because he was superimposing that scene with the idea of sacrificing himself for the three little boys that he’d taken in. I get that feel, Bruce. I cry about Robins, too.
These three moments are so purposeful and SO telling, and I just love Tomasi to bits for dropping headcanon like breadcrumbs. These are legitimately things that I could see Bruce crying over. Bless you.
